Meet Farmington’s
Dr. Charles Schumacher

He’s been serving patients in Farmington since 1986 at Desert Hills Dental Care. He has been voted Best Dentist in Farmington, New Mexico for his exceptional work and dedication to the local community.

Dr. Schumacher is the most experienced dentist in treating snoring and sleep apnea in the Four Corners. No one has his education and experience. He was the first in New Mexico to be designated both a Diplomate in the American Board of Dental Sleep Medicine (ABDSM) and Qualified Dentist by the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine (AADSM). Dr. Schumacher provides sleep apnea and snoring treatment for patients from throughout the region. Dr. Schumacher has graduated from the Tufts University Dental Sleep Medicine program in Boston in addition to completing numerous hours of continuing education in the field.

Dr. Schumacher is happily married. His wife Sandy works in the commercial/retail property management business. They have one daughter who graduated summa cum laude at Texas Christian University, and now works for Southwest Airlines at their headquarters in Dallas.

Dr. Schumacher was the first dentist to be Board Certified by the American Board of Dental Sleep Medicine in the Four Corners and in the entire state of New Mexico. He is Past President of the New Mexico Dental Association, earning their Medal of Distinction in 2024, and served as Chair of the New Mexico Board of Dental Health Care for over 10 years.

While away from the office, he enjoys bicycling, skiing, off-roading, hiking, fishing and spending time with family.
